Atlante confirmed with the highest rating for BRC Agents & Brokers and IFS Broker food safety standards

Once again, this year Atlante has achieved the highest rating for BRC Agents & Brokers and IFS Broker food safety standards, reaffirming our unwavering commitment to excellence and quality. Since 2020 with BRC and since 2022 with IFS, we have consistently received the highest ratings through scheduled audits. In 2024, we took an additional step forward by opting for the unannounced audit, which could occur at any time.
The BRC Agents & Brokers Certification
The BRC Agents & Brokers certification, designed for agents and brokers who purchase, sell, or facilitate the trade of products, ensures that our suppliers maintain a continuous evaluation process for food safety.
The BRC Agents & Brokers Global Standard provides a framework to manage the safety, authenticity, quality, and legality of products. For a company like Atlante, which operates in the food and beverage sector for large-scale distribution, this certification is essential to guarantee the quality and safety of the products we offer to our customers. Our BRC certification covers the marketing of food products in various forms, including bulk, packaged, ambient and controlled temperature, refrigerated, and frozen.
The IFS Broker Certification
The IFS Broker certification sets the standard for auditing the compliance of brokerage, marketing, and import services of food products. An IFS Broker audit assesses whether intermediaries have implemented adequate processes to ensure that suppliers’ products meet legal regulations and customer specifications. Our IFS certificate covers the marketing of food products in various forms, including bulk, packaged, ambient and controlled temperature, refrigerated, and frozen.
Brand owners and retailers globally consider IFS Broker certified companies among the most respected in the industry. The audits are conducted by qualified IFS auditors working for accredited independent certification bodies, adding an additional level of credibility and trust.
The Unannounced Audit Challenge
In 2024, Atlante decided to raise the bar even higher by undergoing an unannounced audit.
This audit, which could take place at any time without prior notice, verified the compliance of our business procedures under real and unexpected conditions.The decision to elevate our standards with an unannounced audit was driven by several key motivations.
“We opted for the unannounced audit to prove that our system and procedures are robust and correctly implemented, ensuring continuous compliance even during surprise checks,” explains Enrico Santi, Quality Assurance Manager at Atlante. “Additionally, we wanted to ensure that the culture of quality and food safety is consistently adopted and that Atlante truly understands the importance and vision behind it. This approach also enhances our customers’ trust, proving that our system is constantly in order and compliant with the most stringent standards.”
