Plant-Based Innovation 2025: Our Range of Cheese Alternatives
15 January 2025
The Plant-Based Market in Italy: Nearly Half of Consumers are Flexitarian
The plant-based market continues to flourish, supported by an ever-expanding range of products on supermarket shelves and the growing interest of consumers.
In Italy specifically, two-thirds of consumers have reduced their consumption of animal proteins. Currently, 42% of the population identifies as conscious flexitarians, a figure that has seen significant growth in recent years. This demonstrates that plant-based eating is not just a trend but a genuine lifestyle choice (source: Ipsos, 2024).
Plant-Based Innovation in 2025
For years, Atlante has been a pioneer and leader in this sector, with a special focus on innovation driven by our R&D department. Over time, we have worked to create a comprehensive range, particularly in the areas of meat alternatives and plant-based beverages. This year, driven by the increasing demand for plant-based products for all consumption occasions, we identified the need to enter a new segment: plant-based cheese alternatives. Between 2021 and 2023, this market grew by 80% in value, highlighting growing consumer interest (source: Good Food Institute, 2024), and retailers have embraced the trend by adding more products to their shelves.
Discover Our Plant-Based Cheese Alternatives at Marca 2025
This year, Atlante will once again participate in Marca Trade Fair, the leading fair in Bologna for private label products. We invite you to visit our stand on 15th and 16th January 2025 at Hall 25, Stand C74, where you can discover our range of Vegamo branded plant-based cheese alternatives.
We have worked to make this range as comprehensive as possible, addressing all cheese-related consumption needs. It includes four offerings, all palm oil-free, two of which are classic staples: vegan Slices, ideal for sandwiches, and a Spreadable Cream, perfect for appetisers and creative recipes. Given our company’s strong focus on Greek specialities, we have also included plant-based alternatives to two of the most beloved Mediterranean cheeses: the Greek Style Block, perfect for salads and fresh dishes.
In addition to our Vegamo range, at the fair, you can explore our latest innovations in Greek specialities, such as indulgent Greek yoghurts, the inclusive lactose-free Greek yoghurt range, and a comprehensive selection of Greek ready meals.
We look forward to welcoming you at Marca 2025, where you can discover these and other innovations, taste our products, and gain deeper insights into our vision of emerging trends in the food sector!
