NIELSEN YEAR-END RELEASE

Thanks to the increasing number of flexitarians, vegetarians and vegans, and the push of the country’s distribution, meat alternatives performed exceptionally in Italy in 2021. The fresh segment (main meals, tofu and seitan) grew by +29%, for a total market value of €125 million.

The boom in frozen meat alternatives continues, with a +32.9% growth in value, for a total of €33.8 million.
